The ultimate checklist to make packing easier for your next stay at Happy Acres.
Packing for a camping trip shouldn’t feel overwhelming. Whether you’re rolling in with your RV or settling into one of our cozy cabins, bringing the right essentials makes your stay smoother, more comfortable, and a whole lot more fun.
To help you prepare for your next getaway at Happy Acres Campground, here’s a list of the top 10 must-pack items every camper should bring.
Your campsite becomes your outdoor living room. Bring your favorite camp chairs so you can relax at your site, enjoy the fire, or sit outside with your morning coffee.
Bring plenty of drinks, easy meals, and snacks you love.
Whether it’s cold brew coffee, s’mores supplies, or the ingredients for a great campground breakfast, having what you need on hand keeps your stay easy and relaxing.
If you love ending your day around the fire, pack your preferred fire-starting supplies—lighters, matches, or starters.
And if you forget anything? Don’t worry. Our camp store carries all the fire-starting basics, plus firewood, so you’re always covered.
Two things campers often forget—but always wish they hadn’t.
The good news? If you leave them at home, our camp store keeps both in stock, so you’ll never have to cut a hike or pool day short.
A small kit with bandages, ointment, and basic supplies is always helpful.
And again—if you’re missing something, our camp store offers first aid items so you’re never unprepared.
Indiana weather can shift throughout the day. Pack layers you can easily add or remove—especially for cool mornings, warm afternoons, and cozy evenings by the campfire.
Wi-Fi is handy, but camping is the perfect chance to slow down. Pack items that bring you joy, such as:
Card games
Books
Puzzles
Yard games
A sketchbook
A Frisbee or pickleball paddles
It’s all about relaxing and having fun your way.
Think beyond the basics:
towels, shampoo, conditioner, toiletries, hair ties, lotion, medications—whatever helps you feel at home.
If you’re staying in one of our cabins, linens and towels are already included, so packing is even easier.
Happy Acres has plenty of areas to explore—from peaceful walks to casual strolls around the ponds. Comfortable shoes make the entire trip better.
It might sound cheesy, but it’s true: the best thing you can bring is an open mind and a relaxed spirit. Camping is about slowing down, embracing the outdoors, laughing at the unexpected, and soaking in the moments.
Pack the essentials, grab the snacks, and double-check your list—and you’ll be relaxing at Happy Acres in no time.
