Candace’s Famous S’mores Hot Chocolate

A Cozy Winter Treat Inspired by Happy Acres Campfires

Winter might have the campground tucked in for the season, but that doesn’t mean you can’t bring a little Happy Acres magic into your home. When the weather turns cold and I start missing warm nights around the campfire, THIS is the recipe I make.

It was lovingly shared with us by one of our wonderful seasonal campers, Candace Bills, and it has become a must-have winter tradition ever since. Candace brought a little “Happy Acres heart” straight into our kitchen with this one.

It’s rich.
It’s creamy.
It tastes like a s’more in a mug.
And it brings back all the campfire feels — even in the middle of December.

☕ S’mores Hot Chocolate – Happy Acres Style

Ingredients

• 7 cups milk

• 2 cups heavy whipping cream

• 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk

• 2 tsp vanilla

• 3 ½ cups Hershey chocolate chips

• 2 Tbsp butter

• Graham crackers

• Marshmallow fluff

Gadgets You’ll Need

• Saucepan

• Crockpot

• Torch

• Ziplock bag

🔥 Instructions

1. Start the Base in the Crockpot

1. Add 6 cups milk, heavy whipping cream, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla to your crockpot.

2. Stir until everything is blended.

3. Turn the crockpot to High and let it heat.

2. Melt the Chocolate

1. In a saucepan, combine the remaining 1 cup milk, butter, and chocolate chips.

2. Stir continuously until melted, smooth, and silky.

3. Pour this chocolate mixture into the crockpot.

4. Stir to combine and heat until steaming.

3. Prep the Graham Cracker Rim

1. Add graham crackers to a ziplock bag.

2. Seal and crush them into crumbs.

4. Rim the Cup

1. Coat the outside rim of your mug with marshmallow fluff.

2. Dip or sprinkle graham cracker crumbs so they stick.

5. Build the S’mores Hot Chocolate

1. Fill your rimmed mug with hot chocolate.

2. Add a big scoop (or two!) of marshmallow fluff on top.

3. Use a kitchen torch to toast the fluff until golden and dreamy.

4. Sprinkle extra graham cracker crumbs.

5. Add a few chocolate chips on top for good measure.
