Full Moon & Total Lunar Eclipse

At 9:59pm the moon will be at its fullest plus you can see a total lunar eclipse.  Watch the Moon turn red as the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon.

Viewing depends on the weather. View it from anywhere in the campground but we recommend taking your chairs to the top of the hill.

Need some help learning the rules or just someone to play with? Mark & Chris Beckstedt will be available to teach kids of all ages the basics.  No intimidation required...they're not professionals.  They enjoy the game and teaching it to others. Paddles & balls are available for you to use.

Dog Parade

Dress up your dog is his best costume and show him off in our First Annual Dog Parade. Creativity encouraged - red, white, & blue appreciated. Spectators can relax at the pavilion or their campsite - we'll be parading our canines in costumes around the entire campground. Prize for the best dressed.

It's the unofficial start to summer - let's eat ice cream! Gather with other campers and enjoy a scoop or two with a few toppings. Make it a root beer float if that's your style.  Scoops w/toppings starting at $2.

National Trails Day

Put on your hiking shoes and get your nature & exercise on. Join us for a no pressure nature walk through our Greene Trails. We'll try to be informative and maybe you'll even learn something new, at least about our campground. We'll be walking throughout the day so pick your time and distance and walk along. Dogs are welcome to join!

9 am - Meet at the Campground Clubhouse for a ~1 mile walk

11 am - Meet at the Skybox (sites on the hill) for a ~.25-mile walk

1 pm - Meet at the Pavilion for a ~.5-mile walk

4pm - Meet at the Maintenance Barn for a ~ .75-mile walk.

Wine & Board

Well... kind of.  We're celebrating Flag Day a little early (Tuesday, June 14) this year. You bring your beverage of choice, and we will provide you with the supplies and instructions to make a wooden American Flag. There's no cutting or nailing required - it will all be done for you.  You just show up and paint. We'll help you create a piece you'll be proud to display all summer long. 

This is a 21+ event. Meet at the Campground Clubhouse at 6:30 pm. Join us as a couple or single - $20 per flag. Spots are limited so please RSVP.by Wednesday, June 8

It's National Bourbon Day and what better way to celebrate: friends, family, food, & BOURBON. Ever wonder what makes Bourbon... Bourbon? Or why all Bourbon is Whiskey but not all Whiskey is Bourbon? We'll share all that while you try some rare and unique bourbons along with some delicious food family style from 6 Autumns Food & Spirits. This is a 21+ event.  RSVP is required. Full Moon - Super Moon (& Flag Day)

At 10:05 pm the moon will be at its fullest plus it's a Super Moon.  A Super Moon happens when the Moon's orbit is closest to Earth at the same the Moon is full. Expect to see a brighter and larger moon than usual.

Viewing depends on the weather. View it from anywhere in the campground but we recommend taking your chairs to the top of the hill.

Golf Cart Parade

Decorate your golf cart in the craziest, most fun, creative, or weird way.  We want to see it all.  Spectators can relax at the pavilion or their campsite - we'll be parading our decorated golf carts around the entire campground. Spectators will vote for their favorite. Noise makers and cheers are expected. Prize for the best decorated.

Meat Cook-Off

Bring your A-game and some meat.  This is Happy Acres First Annual Meat Cook-Off.  Smoke it, grill it, bake it, campfire it.... we don't care as long as it tastes good. A panel of hand selected judges will choose the winner and he or she will go home with prizes & bragging rights.

It's the unofficial National Sugar Cookie Day and we're going to celebrate like rock stars. Kids and kids at heart, bring your decorating skills and creative ideas and create cookie masterpieces. We'll provide everything you need including the cookies. Eat them, gift them, save them for later... at this event everyone's a winner. Please RSVP by Thursday, July 7. $5 per decorator.  Kids must have adult supervision.

For the entire week, we will celebrate all things Christmas by decorating: Christmas trees, twinkling lights, yards decorations, and don't forget the music.  Snow would be impressive.  Weekend and Seasonal campers are encouraged to participate. And everyone will vote on the best camp site on Saturday.

Christmas Dinner & White Elephant

A good family dinner sounds perfect... and we're all family.  Everyone's welcome, including weekend campers, at this potluck event hosted by the Seasonal Campers. 

You can also participate in the Happy Acres White Elephant gift exchange.  The spending limit is $0.  That's right.... no money.  Make it, find it, re-gift it - it doesn't matter.  The crazier and funnier the better. One gift per party.

We'll also be voting for and crowning the winner of the Christmas camp site decorating contest.

Please RSVP by July 20 and in the notes section please indicate how many kids will be attending and their ages.

Golf Cart Games

Let the games begin. Everyone can participate, even if you don't have a golf cart.  Weekend and Seasonal campers are welcome. This is a team event, but you'll be randomly paired with your teammate. Each team will consist of someone that has a golf cart (the driver) and someone that doesn't (the navigator).  The fastest team to successfully make it through our safe & won't damage your cart obstacles - WINS.  *Golf cart drivers must have a valid driver's license.
